Surf Fishing

Now that you have found your rip the next thing to think about is where to drop baits. The best way to fish a rip is with 3 to 5 rods. I will usually drop 2 short and 1 at the tail of the rip. Or 2 short 2 past the rip and 1 way out or way close what ever that's your Choice.
I hope this helps you better understand fishing a rip. Just remember DON’T BE AFRAID TO DROP A BAIT SUPER CLOSE !!!!!. I have had some of my best fishing right in the white wash.

Surf Fishing

When I first started out fishing in North Carolina one of the biggest problems I found was locations in the surf and where to place baits when fishing.  In this post I will go over some of the spots I have found and the reasons why they are so productive.  While I am going over these spots keep in mind the best places to find fish in numbers are places where food must move, a place where the fish don’t need to do much but wait and the food will go to them.  Also keep in mind  that NC waters are 100% different waters than that of Florida, and Georgia.  For example there is a lot of talk about fishing guts (the deep water between sand bars).  Well if you fish NC waters you will see that we don’t have alot of this. The ones we do have are very shallow.  Therefore we must adapt to fishing different structures.  What are structures they are all around us. They are everywhere we look and everywhere we go. They come in all shapes and sizes. Some are made by people, some are natural. Think of structures as a combination of parts that belong together. Take a look around you right now. ...
We live in them, they keep our feet dry on wet days, and make up the framework of our body.  They are mountains, spider webs, ant hills, beaver dams, and trees. They include the unimaginably huge universe with its millions upon millions of galaxies and stars. They also include atoms which are too small to be seen with the naked eye.  They're all structures. Think of structures as a combination of parts that belong together. Now let's take a look at structures from the Beach for fishing.  First we have the rip. Rips are holes or channels cut in the sand bar by water that is trying to escape the slew (water trapped between the sand bar and the beach) on a falling tide.
Thats it for now try finding a rip or 2 for your next trip look for flats notice where your white wash is your surf zone and outermost breakers.  I hope this helps some I will be posting more on Fishing zones when fishing a rip
